Other programs

In addition to the Professorial Chair, the Louis-Jeantet Foundation also supports other projects at the Faculty of Medicine, in particular:

Translational Clinical Research – Starter Scholarships

To promote translational clinical research, three scholarships of CHF 200,000 each are awarded every year alternately by the Louis-Jeantet Foundation and the Fondation privée des HUG.

The purpose of these grants is to fund a project involving both a basic research group from the Faculty of medicine (CMU) and a clinical research group from Geneva University Hospitals (HUG).

Candidates must be affiliated with one of the two above mentioned institutions. For information and on-line submission: website of the Fondation des HUG

Next Generation of Researchers

The Louis-Jeantet Foundation allocates funds to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva enabling it to retain or attract promising researchers.

The Foundation has thus financed several tenure track positions, whether in rehabilitation and geriatrics, neurosciences, cardiology or medical imaging.

Without this support – and in the absence of professorial positions in their field for several years to come – numerous scientists would not have been able to work at the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva.

Research Program for Medical Students (PREM)

Through internships in Geneva and abroad, this program aims to raise awareness of research among medical students, in internationally renowned laboratories. It has been funded by the Louis-Jeantet Foundation since its creation in 1999 and is considered a flagship program for early support for the next generation of academics.
